In Response to SCOTUS Bumpstock Ruling:
To chronically witness so many tragically absurd rationalizations is water torture issued from a bucket above that's filled with bullets and dumdums. Every pelt smarts and stultifies, knocking one silly then into a pained delirium. The people are repeatedly being asked to accept insanity as reason, convolution as plainly reasonable and abject cruelty and sadism as smart governance.
To hear Clarence No Compunction Thomas utter ridiculously accusatory statements of "overstepping" and "exceeding its power", especially at this juncture, is richer than he is.
Most would agree that we are experiencing a horrible moment in America.
In turn, what should be chronically reiterated is this fact: Fascism is not voted out once it bludgeons its way in. Those (these) authoritarian regimes remain for an historical average of 20 years, at which point they are deposed by an embittered and ruined (re)public.
Bump stocks--and all domestic firearm violence-- will continue to play an ugly role in this regrettable process.
